حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَعْدَانُ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِثَوْبَانَ
مَوْلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِّثْنَا حَدِيثًا يَنْفَعُنَا اللَّهُ بِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَسْجُدُ لِلَّهِ سَجْدَةً إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً

English Translation
It was narrated from Thawban, the freed servant of the Prophet ﷺ, that Ma'dan said to him: 'Tell us a hadith from which Allah will benefit us.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: There is no servant who prostrates to Allah in a single prostration except that Allah raises him one degree by it and removes from him one sin.'
