حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْل
َى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَرُدُّ الْقَدَرَ إِلَّا الدُّعَاءُ وَلَا يَزِيدُ فِي الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا الْبِرُّ وَإِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيُحْرَمُ الرِّزْقَ بِالذَّنْبِ يُصِيبُهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Thawban, the freed servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, attributed to the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: 'Nothing repels fate except supplication, and nothing increases one's lifespan except righteousness. Indeed a man may be deprived of provision because of a sin he commits.'
