حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ قَالَ جَاءَ رِعْيَةُ السُّحَيْمِيُّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أُغِيرَ عَلَى وَلَدِي وَمَالِي فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمّ
َا الْمَالُ فَقَدْ اقْتُسِمَ وَأَمَّا الْوَلَدُ فَاذْهَبْ مَعَهُ يَا بِلَالُ فَإِنْ عَرَفَ وَلَدَهُ فَادْفَعْهُ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ فَذَهَبَ مَعَهُ فَأَرَاهُ إِيَّاهُ فَقَالَ تَعْرِفُهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَدَفَعَهُ فَذَهَبَ إِلَيْهِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُغَارَ عَلَيْهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani that a man named Ri'yah al-Suhami came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'My children and property were raided.' He said: 'As for the property, it has been divided. As for the child, go with him, O Bilal. If he recognizes his child, then give the child back to him.' He went with him and showed him, and the Prophet ﷺ asked: 'Do you recognize him?' He said: 'Yes.' So the child was returned to him.
