Hadith #235
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هُرَيْمُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ بَيَانٍ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي شَهْمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ مَرَّتْ بِي جَارِيَةٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَخَذْتُ بِكَشْحِهَا قَالَ وَأَصْبَحَ الرَّسُولُ يُبَايِعُ النَّاس
َ يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَلَمْ يُبَايِعْنِي فَقَالَ صَاحِبُ الْجُبَيْذَةِ الْآنَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَعُودُ قَالَ فَبَايَعَنِي

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Shahm (may Allah be pleased with him) that a young girl passed by him in Madinah and he grabbed her waist. He came to the Prophet ﷺ who refused to accept his pledge of allegiance. Someone said: 'The one who grabbed her waist has come.' He said: 'By Allah, I will never do it again.' So the Prophet ﷺ took his pledge.
