حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ مُخَارِقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَسْرِقَنِي أَوْ يَأْخُذَ مِ
نِّي مَا تَأْمُرُنِي بِهِ قَالَ تُعْظِمُ عَلَيْهِ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ فَإِنْ فَعَلْتُ فَلَمْ يَنْتَهِ قَالَ تَسْتَعْدِي السُّلْطَانَ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ بِقُرْبِي مِنْهُمْ أَحَدٌ قَالَ تُجَاهِدُهُ أَوْ تُقَاتِلُهُ حَتَّى تُكْتَبَ فِي شُهَدَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ أَوْ تَمْنَعَ مَالَكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Makhariق ibn Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'What if a man comes wanting to take my wealth?' He said: 'Invoke Allah upon him.' He said: 'And if I do that and he does not stop?' He said: 'Seek help from the authority.' He said: 'And if there is no one from them nearby?' He said: 'Strive against him or fight him until you are recorded among the martyrs of the Hereafter, or you protect your wealth.'
