حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ الدِّيْلِيُّ عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللّ
َهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا فَمُرَّ عَلَيْهِ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقَالَ مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ قَالَ قُلْنَا أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ قَالَ الْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ يَسْتَرِيحُ مِنْ نَصَبِ الدُّنْيَا وَهَمِّهَا إِلَى رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَالْعَبْدُ الْفَاجِرُ يَسْتَرِيحُ مِنْهُ الْعِبَادُ وَالْبِلَادُ وَالشَّجَرُ وَالدَّوَابُّ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding a funeral: 'One who is at rest, and one from whom people rest.' They asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is one who is at rest and one from whom people rest?' He said: 'The believer is at rest from the toil of this world, and the wicked servant — people, land, trees, and animals rest from him.'
