حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَرَوْحٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالُوا أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَيْضًا حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الل
َّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ نَفْسٍ تَمُوتُ وَلَهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى خَيْرٌ تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا الْمَقْتُولُ وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ إِلَّا الْقَتِيلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ فَيُقْتَلَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no soul on earth who dies while having good standing with Allah and wishing to return to you — except the one killed in battle, for he wishes to return and be killed again.'
