حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبَّاسُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَاصِمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ اقْبِضْهَا إِلَيْكَ حَتَّى تَلِدَ عِنْدَكَ فَإِنْ تَلِدْهُ أَحْمَرَ فَهُوَ لِأَبِيهِ الَّذِي انْتَفَى مِنْهُ لِعُوَيْمِرٍ وَإِنْ وَلَدَتْهُ قَطَطَ الشّ
َعْرِ أَسْوَدَ اللِّسَانِ فَهُوَ لِابْنِ السَّحْمَاءِ قَالَ عَاصِمٌ فَلَمَّا وَقَعَ أَخَذْتُهُ إِلَيَّ فَإِذَا رَأْسُهُ مِثْلُ فَرْوَةِ الْحَمَلِ الصَّغِيرِ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ قَالَ يَعْقُوبُ بِفُقْمَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ أُحَيْمِرٌ مِثْلُ النَّبْقَةِ وَاسْتَقْبَلَنِي لِسَانُهُ أَسْوَدُ مِثْلُ التَّمْرَةِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) through his son 'Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ told 'Asim ibn 'Adi about a child born to a woman who performed li'an: if the child had such-and-such characteristics, he would belong to the husband; if he had a dark tongue, he would be Ibn al-Sahma's. When the child was born and 'Asim inspected it, his head was like a small lamb's fleece and his tongue was black like a date. 'Asim said: 'Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth.'
