حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أُمِّهِ أَن
َّهَا شَهِدَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ وَالنَّاسُ يَرْمُونَ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْ لَا تُهْلِكُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَارْمُوا الْجَمْرَةَ أَوْ الْجَمَرَاتِ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ وَأَشَارَ شُعْبَةُ بِطَرَفِ إِصْبَعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from the mother of Sulayman ibn Amr ibn al-Ahwas that she witnessed the Prophet ﷺ at Jamrat al-Aqabah while the people were throwing, and he said: 'O people, do not kill — or do not destroy — yourselves. Throw the pebbles with the like of the pebbles used for slinging.' Shu'bah indicated with the tip of his index finger.
