حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ

يَحْيَى الْبَكَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَصُوغُ لِأَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَدَّثْنَنِي أَنَّهُنَّ لَسَمِعْنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ الذَّهَبُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةُ بِالْفِضَّةِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوْ اسْتَزَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Rafi' that he said: 'I used to make jewelry for the wives of the Prophet ﷺ, and they narrated to me that they heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Gold for gold and silver for silver — weight for weight. Whoever increases or asks for more has engaged in usury.'
