حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ وَغَيْرِهِ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حَفْصَ بْنَ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ مَالِكِ ابْنِ ب

ُحَيْنَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ وَقَدْ أُقِيمَتْ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْ الْفَجْرِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَاثَ بِهِ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ الصُّبْحُ أَرْبَعًا

English Translation

It was narrated from Malik ibn Buhayna (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man entered the mosque after the iqamah had been called and prayed the two rak'ahs of the Fajr sunnah. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had finished the congregational prayer, the people gathered around that man, and the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Are you praying Fajr as four rak'ahs?'
