حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ وَمُؤَمَّلٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا قَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ مَنْ دَعَا لِلْجَمَلِ الْأ
َحْمَرِ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا وَجَدْتَهُ لَا وَجَدْتَهُ لَا وَجَدْتَهُ إِنَّمَا بُنِيَتْ هَذِهِ الْبُيُوتُ قَالَ مُؤَمَّلٌ هَذِهِ الْمَسَاجِدُ لِمَا بُنِيَتْ لَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin stood up in the mosque after Fajr prayer and called out: 'Who has found the red camel?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'May you not find it! May you not find it! May you not find it! These houses — mosques — were built for the purpose they were built for.'
