حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ أَبِي النَّجُودِ عَنْ جُرَيٍّ قَالَ الْتَقَى رَجُلَ

انِ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ يَمْلَؤُهُ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ يَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالصَّوْمُ نِصْفُ الصَّبْرِ وَالْوُضُوءُ نِصْفُ الْإِيمَانِ

English Translation

It was narrated that two men from Banu Sulaym, who were among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, met. One of them said to his companion: 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: SubhanAllah is half the scale, Alhamdulillah fills it, Allahu Akbar fills what is between the heaven and the earth, fasting is half of patience, and wudu is half of faith.'
