Hadith #220
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ جُرَيٍّ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْم
ٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَقَدَ فِي يَدِهِ أَوْ فِي يَدِ السُّلَمِيِّ فَقَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ يَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ يَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَالطُّهُورُ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَالصَّوْمُ نِصْفُ الصَّبْرِ

English Translation
It was narrated from a man from Banu Sulaym that the Prophet ﷺ counted on his hand or on the man from Banu Sulaym's hand and said: 'SubhanAllah is half the scale, Alhamdulillah fills the scale, Allahu Akbar fills what is between the heaven and the earth, purification is half the scale, and fasting is half of patience.'
