حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ الثَّق
َفِيِّ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ أَعْوَرَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَعْرُوفٌ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَلِيمَةُ حَقٌّ وَالْيَوْمُ الثَّانِي مَعْرُوفٌ وَالْيَوْمُ الثَّالِثُ سُمْعَةٌ وَرِيَاءٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from a one-eyed man from Thaqif known as Ma'ruf, who was praised highly, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The walimah on the first day is a right, on the second day it is good, and on the third day it is showing off and ostentation.'
