English Translation
It was narrated from Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he went to visit Mu'awiyah, and there was a man speaking. Buraidah said: 'O Mu'awiyah, give me permission to speak.' Mu'awiyah consented, thinking Buraidah would say something similar to what the other man had said. Buraidah then said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "I hope to intercede on the Day of Resurrection for as many people as there are trees and clods of earth on the face of the earth."' He then said: 'Do you hope for that, O Mu'awiyah, but not 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)?'
