‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَامِرٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَسَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سَلِيطٍ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ ‏ ‏مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى بَابِ ‏ ‏مَسْجِدِهِ ‏ ‏مُحْتَبٍ ‏ ‏وَعَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ لَهُ قُطْنٌ لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبٌ غَيْرُهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ ‏ ‏الْمُسْلِمُ أَخُو الْمُسْلِمِ لَا يَظْلِمُهُ وَلَا يَخْذُلُهُ ثُمَّ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى صَدْرِهِ يَقُولُ التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا التَّقْوَى هَاهُنَا ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from a man from Banu Saleet that he passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting at the door of his mosque in a cross-legged position, wearing only a cotton garment, saying: 'A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim — he neither wrongs him nor abandons him.' Then he pointed with his hand to his chest saying: 'Piety is here, piety is here.'
