Hadith #349
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَامًا فَمَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا يَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُ فِي مَقَامِهِ ذَلِكَ حَفِظَهُ مَنْ حَفِظَهُ وَنَسِ
يَهُ مَنْ نَسِيَهُ قَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ فَإِنِّي لَأَرَى أَشْيَاءَ قَدْ كُنْتُ نُسِّيتُهَا فَأَعْرِفُهَا كَمَا يَعْرِفُ الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَ الرَّجُلِ قَدْ كَانَ غَائِبًا عَنْهُ يَرَاهُ فَيَعْرِفُهُ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ مَرَّةً فَرَآهُ فَعَرَفَهُ
English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood among us in a standing and did not leave out anything that would happen before the Hour except that he mentioned it in that standing. Whoever memorized it memorized it, and whoever forgot it forgot it. I see things that I had been made to forget and I recognize them just as a man recognizes the face of a man who had been absent from him and then he sees him.'
