Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَمْ يَكْذِبْنِي قَالَ وَكَانَ إِذَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ لَمْ يَكْذِبْ
نِي رَأَيْنَا أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جِبْرِيلُ بِأَحْجَارِ المِرَاءِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ الضَّعِيفَ فَمَنْ قَرَأَ عَلَى حَرْفٍ فَلَا يَتَحَوَّلْ مِنْهُ إِلَى غَيْرِهِ رَغْبَةً عَنْهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Rib'i ibn Hirash that he said: 'Someone who did not lie to me told me' — and when he said that, people understood he meant Hudhayfa — 'that Jibril met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the stones of al-Mira and said: "Among your nation there are the weak. Whoever recites on one mode, let him not switch to another out of dislike for it."'
