حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَبٌ عَلَى أَهْلِي وَكَانَ

ذَلِكَ لَا يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنْ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ

English Translation

It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'My tongue was sharp toward my family, and that did not go beyond them to others. I complained about this to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: "Where are you regarding seeking forgiveness, O Hudhayfa? I seek forgiveness from Allah one hundred times every day."'
