حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّهُ أَتَاهُ بِالْمَدَائِنِ فَقَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا فَعَلَ قَوْمُكَ قَالَ قُ
لْتُ عَنْ أَيِّ بَالِهِمْ تَسْأَلُ قَالَ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْهُمْ إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ يَعْنِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ قُلْتُ فُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ وَفُلَانٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ الْجَمَاعَةِ وَاسْتَذَلَّ الْإِمَارَةَ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَا وَجْهَ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) through Rib'i ibn Hirash that Rib'i visited him at al-Mada'in. Hudhayfa asked: 'What are your people doing?' He said: 'What aspect of their affairs do you ask about?' He said: 'Who among them has gone out against this man' — meaning Uthman. Rib'i named some men. Hudhayfa said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Whoever parts from the community and scorns authority will meet Allah Almighty without any standing before Him."'
