Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَا
رِيِّ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ عِظْنِي وَأَوْجِزْ فَقَالَ إِذَا قُمْتَ فِي صَلَاتِكَ فَصَلِّ صَلَاةَ مُوَدِّعٍ وَلَا تَكَلَّمْ بِكَلَامٍ تَعْتَذِرُ مِنْهُ غَدًا وَاجْمَعْ الْإِيَاسَ مِمَّا فِي يَدَيْ النَّاسِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Advise me and be brief. He said: 'When you stand in your prayer, pray the prayer of a man bidding farewell. Do not say something for which you will have to make excuses tomorrow. And give up hope in what people possess.'
