حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَوْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَسْتَاكُ مِنْ اللَّيْلِ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا وَإِذَا قَامَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ اللَّيْلِ صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُ وَلَا يَأْمُرُ بِشَيْءٍ وَيُسَلِّمُ بَيْنَ كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبِهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ تَمَضْمَضَ وَمَسَحَ لِحْيَتَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا بِالْمَاءِ
English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'One of you asks about news of the heavens while leaving his nails like the claws of birds, in which impurity, filth, and dirt accumulate.'
