English Translation
It was narrated from Amr ibn al-Hamiq (may Allah be pleased with him) that Rifa'ah al-Qitbani said: 'I entered upon al-Mukhtar, and he threw a cushion down for me and said: "Were it not that my brother Jibril just rose from this spot, I would have thrown it for you." I intended to strike his neck, but I recalled a hadith that my brother Amr ibn al-Hamiq narrated to me — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever grants safe conduct to a man and then kills him, I am free of the killer, even if the killed man was a disbeliever."'
