حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتَ طَلْحَةَ تَذْكُرُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ جَالِسًا كَاشِفًا عَنْ فَخِذِهِ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى حَالِهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ عُمَرُ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ وَهُوَ عَلَى حَ
الِهِ ثُمَّ اسْتَأْذَنَ عُثْمَانُ فَأَرْخَى عَلَيْهِ ثِيَابَهُ فَلَمَّا قَامُوا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَيْكَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَأَذِنْتَ لَهُمَا وَأَنْتَ عَلَى حَالِكَ فَلَمَّا اسْتَأْذَنَ عُثْمَانُ أَرْخَيْتَ عَلَيْكَ ثِيَابَكَ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ أَلَا أَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ رَجُلٍ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ تَسْتَحْيِي مِنْهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr and Umar sought permission to enter and you permitted them while you were in your state. When Uthman sought permission, you adjusted your garments.' He said: 'O Aisha, should I not be modest with a man whom, by Allah, the angels themselves are modest with?'
