حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ مِخْرَاقٍ عَنْ
عَائِشَةَ قَالَ ذُكِرَ لَهَا أَنَّ نَاسًا يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَقَالَتْ أُولَئِكَ قَرَءُوا وَلَمْ يَقْرَءُوا كُنْتُ أَقُومُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةَ التَّمَامِ فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ وَآلِ عِمْرَانَ وَالنِّسَاءِ فَلَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةٍ فِيهَا تَخَوُّفٌ إِلَّا دَعَا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَاسْتَعَاذَ وَلَا يَمُرُّ بِآيَةٍ فِيهَا اسْتِبْشَارٌ إِلَّا دَعَا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَرَغِبَ إِلَيْهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when she was told of people who recite the Quran once or twice in a single night, she said: "Those people recited but did not truly recite. I used to stand in prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ throughout the whole night, and he would recite Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Imran and Surah An-Nisa. He would not pass a verse containing a warning except that he would call upon Allah and seek refuge with Him, and he would not pass a verse containing glad tidings except that he would call upon Allah and beseech Him."
