حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُحِبُّ أَ
نْ أَدْخُلَ الْبَيْتَ فَأُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ فَأَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدِي فَأَدْخَلَنِي فِي الْحِجْرِ فَقَالَ لِي صَلِّي فِي الْحِجْرِ إِذَا أَرَدْتِ دُخُولَ الْبَيْتِ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ قِطْعَةٌ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ وَلَكِنَّ قَوْمَكِ اسْتَقْصَرُوا حِينَ بَنَوْا الْكَعْبَةَ فَأَخْرَجُوهُ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she wished to enter the Ka'bah and pray inside it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took her hand and led her into the Hijr, saying: "Pray in the Hijr if you wish to enter the House, for it is part of the House. However, your people made it short when they built the Ka'bah and excluded it from the House."
