قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ وَثَابِتٌ عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ فِي شَيْءٍ فَقَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ يَا عَائِشَةُ أَرْضِي عَنِّي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَكِ يَوْمِي فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَخَذَتْ خِ
مَارًا لَهَا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ فَرَشَّتْهُ بِالْمَاءِ لِيَفُوحَ رِيحُهُ فَقَعَدَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْكِ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ يَوْمَكِ قَالَتْ ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَأَخْبَرَتْهُ بِالْأَمْرِ فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that on a day that was not her turn, she spread a garment dyed with saffron with water to release its fragrance and sat beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "Step away, O Aisha — this is not your day." She said: "That is the grace of Allah which He bestows upon whom He wills." She then told him what she had done, and he was pleased with her.
