Hadith #51

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَن
ِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا فَعَلَتْ الذَّهَبُ فَجَاءَتْ مَا بَيْنَ الْخَمْسَةِ إِلَى السَّبْعَةِ أَوْ الثَّمَانِيَةِ أَوْ التِّسْعَةِ فَجَعَلَ يُقَلِّبُهَا بِيَدِهِ وَيَقُولُ مَا ظَنُّ مُحَمَّدٍ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَوْ لَقِيَهُ وَهَذِهِ عِنْدَهُ أَنْفِقِيهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said during his final illness: 'O Aisha, what happened to the gold?' She brought between five and nine pieces, and he began turning them over in his hand saying: 'What would Muhammad think of Allah if he were to meet Him while these are with him? Spend them.'
