حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا اشْتَرَتْ بَرِي

رَةَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَشْتَرِي بَرِيرَةَ وَأَشْتَرِطُ لَهُمْ الْوَلَاءَ قَالَ اشْتَرِي فَإِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ وَلِيَ النِّعْمَةَ أَوْ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ

English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, I want to buy Barirah — should I stipulate that they keep the wala?" He said: "Buy her, for wala belongs only to the patron or to the one who emancipates."
