English Translation
It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: 'I used to hear that a prophet does not die except that he is given a choice between this world and the Hereafter.' She said: 'He developed hoarseness in his illness in which he died. I heard him reciting: "Among those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor — of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs, and the righteous" (4:69). So I thought he had been given the choice.'
