English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she asked about the verse: 'Those who give what they give while their hearts are fearful' (23:60) — is it about the one who commits adultery, steals, and drinks wine? He said: 'No, O daughter of Abu Bakr — or O daughter of al-Siddiq. Rather it is the man who fasts, prays, and gives charity, yet fears that it will not be accepted from him.'
