English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she corrected the understanding that the deceased is punished because of the weeping of the living. She said: 'What Ibn Umar has erred in, he also erred in on the day of the Qalyub well. What the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said is: "He is being punished while his family weeps over him" — meaning an unbeliever.'
