English Translation

It was narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of the Prophet ﷺ, that she said: 'By Allah, whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given a choice between two matters, he always chose the easier of the two — as long as it was not sinful. When it was sinful, he was the farthest of all people from it. By Allah, he never took personal revenge for anything done to him — unless the sanctities of Allah were violated, in which case he would take revenge for the sake of Allah.'
