Hadith #145
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً حَدَّثَتْهُ قَالَتْ نَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ وَهُوَ يَضْحَكُ فَقُلْتُ تَضْحَكُ مِنِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ مِنْ قَوْمٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَخْرُجُونَ غُزَاةً فِي الْبَحْرِ مَثَلُهُمْ مَثَلُ الْمُلُوكِ عَلَى الْأَسِرَّةِ قَالَتْ ثُمَّ نَامَ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ
أَيْضًا يَضْحَكُ فَقُلْتُ تَضْحَكُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مِنِّي قَالَ لَا وَلَكِنْ مِنْ قَوْمٍ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَخْرُجُونَ غُزَاةً فِي الْبَحْرِ فَيَرْجِعُونَ قَلِيلَةً غَنَائِمُهُمْ مَغْفُورًا لَهُمْ قَالَتْ ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ فَدَعَا لَهَا قَالَ فَأَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهَا فِي غَزَاةٍ غَزَاهَا الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ إِلَى أَرْضِ الرُّومِ هِيَ مَعَنَا فَمَاتَتْ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ

English Translation
It was narrated from a female Companion (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet ﷺ laughed and she said: "Are you laughing at me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "No, but at a group of my community who will go on a naval expedition, returning with few spoils but forgiven." She said: "Pray to Allah to make me among them." He prayed for her. Ata ibn Yasar said: "I saw her in a military expedition led by al-Mundhir ibn al-Zubayr to the land of Byzantium — she was with us and died in the Byzantine lands."
