Hadith #73
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى عَقِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ قَالَتْ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُ
هُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانَ ابْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: "I wrapped myself in a garment and greeted him, and that was in the forenoon. He said: 'Who is this?' I said: 'I am Umm Hani.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my maternal cousin claims he will kill a man I have granted protection — so-and-so, the son of Hubayra.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, O Umm Hani.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his bath, he stood and prayed eight rak'ahs wrapped in a single garment."
