English Translation

It was narrated from Amir ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sa'd rode to his estate at al-Aqiq and found a slave cutting — or chopping — trees. So he confiscated his belongings. When Sa'd returned, the slave's family came to him and asked him to return what he had taken from their slave. He said: 'I seek refuge with Allah from returning anything that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted me as spoils.' And he refused to return it to them.
