حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ قَالَ حُصَيْنٌ أَخْبَرَنَا عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يِسَافٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ قَالَ لَمَّا خَرَجَ مُعَاوِيَةُ مِنْ الْكُوفَةِ اسْتَعْمَلَ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ فَأَقَامَ خُطَبَاءَ يَقَعُونَ فِي عَلِيٍّ قَالَ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَنْبِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَالَ فَغَضِبَ فَقَامَ فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَتَبِعْتُهُ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَرَى إِلَى هَذَا الرَّجُلِ الظَّالِمِ لِنَفْسِهِ الَّذِي يَأْمُرُ بِلَعْنِ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَأَشْهَدُ عَلَى التِّسْعَةِ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَلَوْ شَهِدْتُ عَلَى الْعَاشِرِ لَمْ آثَمْ قَالَ قُ
لْتُ وَمَا ذَاكَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اثْبُتْ حِرَاءُ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ أَوْ شَهِيدٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ مَنْ هُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَالزُّبَيْرُ وَطَلْحَةُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَسَعْدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ قَالَ قُلْتُ وَمَنْ الْعَاشِرُ قَالَ قَالَ أَنَا

English Translation
'Abdullah ibn Zalim al-Mazini said: When Mu'awiyah left Kufa, he appointed al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah as governor. He set up speakers who would attack 'Ali (رضي الله عنه). I was sitting next to Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl, and he became angry, stood up, took my hand, and I followed him. He said: 'Do you not see this man who wrongs himself by ordering the cursing of a man from the people of Paradise? I bear witness upon nine of them that they are in Paradise, and if I testified about the tenth, I would not be sinful.' I asked: 'How so?' He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Be still, O Hira', for upon you is none but a prophet, a siddiq, or a shahid.' I said: 'Who are they?' He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, al-Zubayr, Talhah, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, and Sa'd ibn Malik.' Then he fell silent. I said: 'And who is the tenth?' He said: 'Me.'
