Isma'il — meaning Ibn Ibrahim — narrated from Hisham, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding the mukatab (slave in a contract of manumission): 'He is freed in proportion to what he has paid — the blood money of a free person (for the freed portion), and the blood money of a slave (for the portion still in bondage).'
