Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي صَغِيرَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ
وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنْ حَالَ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُ سَحَابٌ فَكَمِّلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلَاثِينَ وَلَا تَسْتَقْبِلُوا الشَّهْرَ اسْتِقْبَالًا قَالَ حَاتِمٌ يَعْنِي عِدَّةَ شَعْبَانَ

ابن عباس يقول
English Translation
Isma'il narrated from Hatim ibn Abi Saghirah, from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Ikrimah, who said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Fast upon sighting it (the crescent moon) and break your fast upon sighting it. If clouds block your view, then complete the count to thirty, and do not begin the month prematurely.' Hatim said: meaning the count of Sha'ban.
