English Translation
Yahya narrated from Ibn Jurayj, al-Hasan ibn Muslim narrated to me, from Tawus, who said: I was with Ibn 'Abbas when Zayd ibn Thabit said to him: 'You issue fatwas that a menstruating woman may depart (from Makkah after Hajj) before her last act is (tawaf of) the House?' He said: 'Yes.' He (Zayd) said: 'Do not issue that fatwa.' He (Ibn 'Abbas) said: 'If you insist, then ask such-and-such Ansari woman whether the Prophet ﷺ commanded her to do so.' Zayd came back to Ibn 'Abbas laughing and said: 'I can only see that you were truthful.'
