حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ مُعَتِّبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا حَسَنٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي نَوْفَلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ
اسْتَفْتَى ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فِي مَمْلُوكٍ تَحْتَهُ مَمْلُوكَةٌ فَطَلَّقَهَا تَطْلِيقَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ عَتَقَا هَلْ يَصْلُحُ لَهُ أَنْ يَخْطُبَهَا قَالَ نَعَمْ قَضَى بِذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Yahya narrated from 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to me, that 'Umar ibn Mu'attib informed him, that Abu Hasan — the freed slave of Abu Nawfal — informed him that he asked Ibn 'Abbas for a ruling about a male slave married to a female slave: he divorced her twice, then they were both freed. Can he propose to her? He said: 'Yes. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled accordingly.'
