Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَفَعَاهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِلرَّجُلِ أَنْ يُعْطِيَ الْعَطِيَّةَ فَيَرْجِعَ فِيهَا إِلَّا الْوَالِدَ فِيمَا يُعْطِي وَلَدَهُ وَمَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعْطِي الْعَطِيَّةَ فَيَرْجِعُ فِيهَا كَمَثَلِ ا
لْكَلْبِ أَكَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا شَبِعَ قَاءَ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فِي قَيْئِهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

English Translation
Yazid narrated to us, Husayn ibn Dhakwan informed us, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from Tawus, that Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهم) raised it to the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: "It is not permissible for a man to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father regarding what he gives his child. The likeness of the one who gives a gift and then takes it back is like that of a dog which eats until it is full, then vomits, and then returns to its vomit." He said: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Husayn al-Mu'allim narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb, from Tawus, from Ibn 'Umar and Ibn 'Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said the same.
