حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن أَحْمَد و
َسَمِعْتُهُ أَنَا مَنْ هَارُونَ أَنَّ أَبَا حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ ابْنٍ لِسَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَسَيَعُودُ كَمَا بَدَأَ فَطُوبَى يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْغُرَبَاءِ إِذَا فَسَدَ النَّاسُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ بِيَدِهِ لَيَأْرِزَنَّ الْإِيمَانُ بَيْنَ هَذَيْنِ الْمَسْجِدَيْنِ كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ فِي جُحْرِهَا

English Translation
A son of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i heard my father (رضي الله عنه) saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'Indeed, faith began as something strange and it will return to being strange as it began. So glad tidings (tuba) on that day to the strangers when the people become corrupt. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Abu al-Qasim, faith will retreat between these two mosques as a snake retreats into its hole.'
