English Translation
It was narrated from Umar ibn Sa'd, from his father, who said: His son Amir came to him, and Sa'd said: 'O my son, do you command me to be a leader in this tribulation? No, by Allah, not until I am given a sword: if I strike a believer with it, it bounces off; and if I strike a disbeliever with it, it kills him. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Indeed, Allah loves the servant who is pious, self-sufficient, and hidden [from fame].'
