حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الْبَهْرَانِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالزَّاو
ِيَةِ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ مِنْ الْبَرَازِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ فَتَعَجَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا هَذَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ رَأَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ مَا فَعَلْتُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that sa'd (رضي الله عنه) used to make wudu at the corner. One day he came out from relieving himself, made wudu, and wiped over his leather socks. We were surprised and said: 'What is this?' He said: 'My father told me that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do what I just did.'
