English Translation

'Amir ibn Sa'd narrated from his father (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'On the Day of the Trench (Khandaq), a man was shielding himself, moving his shield up over his nose, then lowering it. I reached into my quiver and took out a blood-tipped arrow and placed it on the middle of my bow. When he lowered his shield, I shot and I have not forgotten the thud of the arrow on such-and-such part of the shield. He fell and kicked his legs. the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ laughed — I think he said: until his back teeth were visible.' I asked: 'Why?' He said: 'Because of what the man did.'
