حَدَّثَنَا مُعَمَّرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَن

ِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا نِكَاحَ إِلَّا بِوَلِيٍّ وَالسُّلْطَانُ وَلِيُّ مَنْ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَمَّرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ

English Translation

Mu'ammar ibn Sulayman al-Raqqi narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "There is no marriage except with a guardian, and the sultan is the guardian of whoever has no guardian." Mu'ammar ibn Sulayman al-Raqqi narrated to us, Hajjaj narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, from 'A'ishah (رضي الله عنها), from the Prophet ﷺ — a similar narration.
