He said: I lay down across the width of the pillow, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his wife lay along its length. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept until midnight — or slightly before or slightly after it — then he woke up and sat wiping the sleep from his face with his hand. Then he recited the last ten verses of Surah Al 'Imran. Then he stood up to a hanging waterskin and performed wudu from it, perfecting his wudu. Then he stood to pray. Ibn 'Abbas said: I got up and did as he had done, then went and stood beside him. He placed his hand on my head and took my right ear, twisting it gently. Then he prayed two rak'ahs, then two, then two, then two, then two, then two, then performed witr. Then he lay down until the mu'adhdhin came to him. He stood up and prayed two light rak'ahs, then went out and prayed the Fajr prayer.

Yunus narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from Abu al-'Aliyah, who said: The cousin of your Prophet ﷺ, Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), narrated to us. He said: the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ said: "On the night I was taken on the Night Journey, I saw Musa ibn 'Imran (عليه السلام) — a dark-skinned, tall, curly-haired man, as if he were one of the men of Shanu'ah. And I saw 'Isa ibn Maryam (عليهما السلام) — of medium build, reddish-white in complexion, with straight hair." Husayn narrated to us in the tafsir of Shayban, from Qatadah, who said: Abu al-'Aliyah narrated to us, the cousin of your Prophet, Ibn 'Abbas, narrated to us. He said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the same.
