حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ وَعَفَّانُ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ وَقَيْسٌ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَّرَ الْعِش
َاءَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظُوا ثُمَّ نَامُوا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظُوا قَالَ قَيْسٌ فَجَاءَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَنَّهُمْ تَوَضَّئُوا

English Translation
Yunus and 'Affan narrated to us, both said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ayyub. 'Affan said: Hammad said: Ayyub and Qays informed us, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the 'Isha prayer one night until the people slept, then woke up, then slept, then woke up. Qays said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) came and said: "The prayer, O Messenger of Allah!" He said: So he came out and prayed with them, and it was not mentioned that they performed wudu.
